Video Post production Color Grading

Color grading is a specialized process that can significantly influence the visual tone and mood of a video.

Our fees take into consideration these elements:

Complexity of the Project: A short video or commercial might cost less to grade than a feature-length film. Moreover, if the video requires a lot of corrections due to poor initial shooting quality, it might be pricier.

Duration of the Video: A longer video will typically cost more to color grade simply because of the time it takes.

Equipment and Software: High-end studios with state-of-the-art equipment and software might charge more because of the premium services they offer.

Turnaround Time: Rush projects can attract higher fees.

Additional Services: The process might include not just color grading but also color correction, which is the primary step of balancing footage colors. If both services are required, the cost might be higher.

  • Our Entry-level or freelance colorists charge anywhere from $125 to $350 an hour.
  • Mid-level colorists in smaller markets: Rates can range from $350 to $500 an hour.
  • High-end or industry-renowned colorists: Can charge $500 to $1,000 an hour or more, especially if they are working on commercial projects or feature films.

However, these are general estimates and can change based on the specific conditions and requirements of a project. Some of our freelance colorists also prefer charging per project instead of hourly rates. If you are considering hiring a colorist, it’s always a good idea to get multiple quotes and thoroughly review the colorist’s portfolio and references.

Apple Motion and graphic design services & rates

Apple Motion is a software application used for creating motion graphics, which are an essential component of many videos and films. The fees for Apple Motion artists (or motion graphic designers in general) can vary based on several factors:

Experience and Skill Level: As with many professions, those who have been in the industry longer and have built a strong reputation can charge more.

  • Complexity of the Project: Simple animations will cost less than intricate, detailed motion graphics. The number of graphics, the complexity of animations, and the number of revisions requested can all influence the price.
  • Duration: If you’re being charged by the second or minute of produced video, longer videos will generally be more expensive.
  • Turnaround Time: Rush projects that need a quick turnaround might incur higher fees.
  • Software Used: While Apple Motion is more affordable than some other programs, an artist might use it in conjunction with other, pricier software which could factor into rates.

As a general estimate:

  • Our Entry-level or freelance artists: Might charge anywhere from $65 to $125 an hour.
  • Our Mid-level artists: Rates can range from $75 to $200 an hour.
  • Our Senior or highly experienced artists: Can charge $250 to $300 an hour or more.

Again, these are broad estimates, and actual rates can vary. Some artists might also offer package deals or charge per project instead of an hourly rate. If you’re looking to hire an Apple Motion artist or motion graphics designer, it’s beneficial to get multiple quotes and ensure that you view their portfolio to understand their style and quality of work.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) programming

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) programming can be diverse, primarily depending on the complexity of the project, the experience of the developer or agency, the region or country, and the duration of the project.

Here are some factors that can influence our rates:

Complexity and Scope of the Project: A simple AR app that overlays images or short videos on real-world objects will be significantly cheaper than a fully immersive VR game with complex interactivity, AI integration, and realistic 3D environments.

Experience and Skill Level: Our Developers have a considerable history in AR/VR and have worked on well-known projects, can command higher rates.

Duration: Projects with a longer timeframe due to intricate design or coding requirements will naturally be more expensive.

Tools and Platforms Used: Some AR/VR development tools and platforms are pricier, and licensing costs might be are passed onto the client through the complexity of the project and tools required to complete the task. Additionally, developing for specialty platforms (e.g., Oculus, HTC Vive, PlayStation VR) can increase costs.

Additional Features: Integration with other systems, multiplayer features, sophisticated animations, or adding AI components can add to development costs. Senior API implementation programmers typically start out at $150.00 per hour plus licensing and integration fee’s.

As a broad estimate:

Freelancers: Rates can range from $20 to $200 an hour, with the wide range primarily based on experience and location.

Agencies or Studios: Rates usually start from $75 per hour and can go up to $500 or more for top-tier studios.

Fixed Project Fees: For comprehensive projects, agencies might provide a quote for the entire project, which can range from $10,000 for simpler applications to $500,000 or more for intricate VR experiences or games.

Video-based digital special effects (VFX)

Considerations for video-based digital special effects (VFX) can vary widely based on a multitude of factors.

Here are a few of the considerations:

Complexity and Scope of the Project: Basic color corrections or simple effects (like adding fire, smoke, or rain) would be cheaper than creating a detailed 3D creature, a massive explosion with debris, or a realistic crowd simulation.

Experience and Skill LevelVFX artists or studios with extensive experience or recognition in the industry (like those who’ve worked on major motion pictures) will command higher fees than those just starting out.

Duration: A project that requires a few days will be much cheaper than one that spans several months.

Geographic Location: As with many industries, VFX professionals in regions with higher living costs (e.g., the U.S., Western Europe) might charge more than those in regions with lower living costs (e.g., parts of Asia or Eastern Europe).

Tools Used: High-end software like Houdini, Nuke, or proprietary tools might increase the cost.

Specificity of the Effect: Standard effects that can be achieved with off-the-shelf plugins or tools will be less expensive than bespoke effects tailored for a specific scene or project.
To provide a general estimate:

Freelancers: Depending on experience and the region, freelancers might charge anywhere from $25 to $300 an hour.

VFX Studios: For well-known studios, especially those that have worked on blockbuster films, rates can be substantially higher. It’s not unusual for major scenes in big-budget films to cost several hundred thousand dollars or even millions.

Package Deals: For longer projects or those requiring multiple effects, some studios or freelancers might offer a package rate, which could range from a few thousand dollars for simpler projects to well over a hundred thousand for intricate ones.

Again, these figures can vary widely based on the project’s specifics, and they can also change over time due to inflation, industry demand, technological advancements, and other factors.
